Twitter Reacts to Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Loss

Super Bowl 49 was one for the ages. A thrilling back-and-forth between Tom Brady, one of the living legends in the NFL, and Russell Wilson, a young quarterback that is on pace to have a very similar career.

By now, we all know the outcome of the game and are absolutely sick of being reminded of the boneheaded play call that likely resulted in the Seattle Seahawks handing the New England Patriots their fourth Super Bowl title in fourteen years.

I won’t criticize Darrell Bevell too much because none of us know what it’s like to be an NFL offensive coordinator. And make no mistake about it, Bevell is still one of the best, even if you don’t agree with his final play call of the 2015 Super Bowl.

Yesterday’s season finale was everything a football fan could have asked for. The two quarterbacks exchanged touchdown after touchdown in the matchup of #1 seeded teams.

Athletes, celebrities, and fans all took to Twitter to give their opinions on the epic showdown.

With Super Bowl ticket prices at an all-time high, University of Phoenix Stadium was still filled with diehard football fans. Many said that Seahawks fans easily outnumbered Patriots fans at the game.

Former head coach Tony Dungy predicting that the game would come down to the final drive. Great call Tony.

All-time great running back Emmitt Smith said what many of us thought after the Patriots picked off Russell Wilson in the endzone.

While we all think it may have been one of the worst play calls in Super Bowl history, some stats show that there might have been some solid reasoning behind the passing play.

Chris Pratt, most known for his role as Star-Lord in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie as well as the television show “Parks and Recreations” is a well know Seahawks fan.

He and Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in the Marvel super hero movies, made a wager on the game. The loser of the bet would have to dress up as their respective movie character and visit a children’s hospital in the winning city. Two classy guys making a very classy bet for a great cause.

Chris Evans ended up winning the bet, but revealed that Captain America would not be leaving out the amazing kids at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Both men will take their turns as the heroes that they are in both Boston and Seattle.

Coach Carroll saying what a head coach should say. Ultimately, he knows that it was a call that many of his own players and the fans don’t agree with. Just one yard and Seattle would be celebrating their second Super Bowl championship in two years.

Instead, the entire city of Seattle as well as thousands of fans across America are left disappointed with the end to the 2014 NFL season. We made it to the Super Bowl, but we fell one yard short of a dynasty.

Lastly, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tweeted that this one moment in time will not define his career. And he shouldn’t. Much like the loss to the Atlanta Falcons in the 2012 playoffs, tough times seem to make Wilson all that much tougher.

I’m sure that Wilson along with the rest of his teammates will come back next season that much more motivated to make it back into Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, California.
