I wrote something two years and three weeks ago that I had completely forgotten about. It wasn’t until I wrote the headline above that it popped into my memory. I only remembered it because I wrote an almost identical headline at the time. Sadly, it doesn’t just describe how I felt back then. It also describes how I feel right now.
"Like it or not, the offseason is here for the Seahawks. This is my season, or at least, its supposed to be. This is when I’m usually at my best. I know my cap rules; have knowledge on every Seahawks contract; have scouting notes on hundreds of draft prospects; have detailed lists of team needs on every NFL team provided by the people who know those teams best to help with mock drafts. This is when I’m supposed to shine.Right now, I just can’t do it.…As tough as it’s going to be, it’s time for me to turn the page. 2012 was a great year by a great team. It was, but it’s over. It’s time for 2013 to begin, and 2013 is going to be great."
Pete Carroll added something this morning on the radio that needs to be said as well.
"Sometimes things just don’t go the right way. Sometimes though its about the journey, the path you walk” – Pete Carroll on 710"
The Seahawks gave us a great journey this year. It was an amazing season. It filled the region with pride and bound us all together as 12s. 2014 was amazing, no matter how it ended.
Now It’s time for 2015 to begin, and 2015 is going to be great.
