Tight ends continue to be important in today’s game. The tight end is often seen as a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. There were four tight ends this year that totaled at least 80 or more receptions. However, none of them are free agents.

• Julius Thomas stands out as the number one tight end on the market this year. But questions hover over teams in terms of his enthusiasm for the game. Seems like money is more important than winning in Thomas’s eyes. However I still believe he will see top dollar when signing with a team.
