Seattle has long been in the hunt to add a starter at cornerback as well as fill the position with quality depth since the known loss of Maxwell. To go along with Maxwell’s departure the many injuries the Seahawks have in the secondary made the need at corner pretty glaring.
Jeremy Lane and Tharold Simon are both looking to miss at least a part of the 2015 season and the Seahawks have to replenish what was once the most plentiful position on the team.
Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas have each dealt with their own major injuries as well so John Schneider and Pete Carroll have been turning every rock to find a solution.

The first ray of light is here with Will Blackmon signing with the Seahawks today. Blackmon last played with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are well-known for taking from the Seahawks roster instead of supplying it.
Blackmon only played in eight games during the 2014 season because of a broken finger. Blackmon however has already been with the Seahawks in the past and won’t have much of an adjustment as he spent seven months with the team.
After signing with the Seahawks in February of 2013, Seattle released the veteran cornerback in August. Blackmon never made an appearance in a regular season game with the Seahawks.
The chances of Blackmon playing a key role in the Seahawks secondary will hinge on what other moves the Seahawks make in free agency and the 2015 NFL Draft on April 30th-May 2nd.
