Red Bryant Back In Seattle? Makes Sense For Both Sides.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll went on Sports Radio 950 KJR AM’s Dave “Softy” Mahler Friday, and was asked about defensive lineman Red Bryant potentially returning to Seattle after being released by the Jaguars:
"“We’ll see,” Carroll said. “Red’s a fine young man. He was a big part here and we love his contribution. The fact he became available, it’s something. We’re on everything. Every single transaction that happens we go through the process with it and of course we’ll do that with Red.“That’s what this time of year is all about. We’ll see what the urgency is from other clubs and how fast things have to move. But he was a great kid in the program and so we have a special place in our heart for guys like that. They’ve battled with us and we think of them as our guys even when they’re playing for other teams when they’ve spent that much time with us and been kind of heart and soul guys.”"
Oh….OK. So Pete is saying he….what is Pete saying?

Thing are so secretive in Renton these days. It’s common for
to say a bunch of words that have little to no direction. Of course this is free-agency and being secretive is necessary. However, this move makes too much sense to pass up.
Red Bryant is only 30 years old and still an elite wall to running backs. Stopping the run was a glaring weakness last year in Seattle in certain games. Better yet, he knows the guys and knows what the Seahawks like to do.
Jacksonville really blew it by releasing Bryant. Veteran leadership is a must in NFL locker rooms. Bryant is a low maintenance, team guy, giving his best on each play. Gus Bradley knows this, yet he still made the decision to let him go one year after Bryant signed a four year deal.
The NFL’s a tough business.
If Seattle passes on Red Bryant they’ll be fine and no regret will be felt. This is a great team with tremendous talent. Bringing Bryant back, though, wouldn’t hurt the team. Let’s have a happy reunion Pete!
Go Hawks!
