Right now the Seattle Seahawks are on one of the most incredible streaks that nobody’s talking about. They haven’t lost a game by double-digit points in sixty-four straight games. That’s four years worth of regular season games.

To put this into a better perspective, the second current longest streak belongs to the New England Patriots at fifteen. That’s forty-nine fewer games than the Seahawks.

Right now, if you average all of the other thirty-one teams, they lose a game by ten plus points every 2.69 games. The Seahawks have zero. The other thirty-one teams have lost 147 games in 2014 by ten or more points, giving them an average of 4.7 per team.

Over the course of the Seahawks current streak the rest of the league has lost 512 games by that margin, that’s an average of 16.5 per team, about 25%. The Seahawks have zero. Here is a quick look at some of the teams:

Top three longest streaks besides the Seahawks without losing a game by 10 or more:

Patriots 15

Packers 10

Vikings 10

Most losses by 10 or more points during the Seahawks current steak:

Jaguars 33

Raiders 28

Rams 25

Why is this the case? It’s because they are relentless. They play great defense, and they have a very efficient offense. I remember Seattle playing in Houston in 2013, and they were down 17 at halftime, and won. In Atlanta for the 2012 playoffs down 20 and probably should have won. Then there was this year’s NFC Championship game. They never give up, never stop believing that they are going to win. If you don’t have this attitude in your team this accomplishment isn’t achievable.

Hopefully the 2015 season has another 19 games in it and I can write another post about this next year. Except next time the number would be 83 instead of 64. Go Hawks!
