FORMER STARTERS/TOP PROSPECTS:
Colt McCoy/Kirk Cousins – Washington Redskins
Last year the Redskins kept both of these guys on the roster behind RGIII, and with Griffin’s future uncertain they may do so again. Then again they may see the value in moving one of them for a late round pick. Cousins was drafted in the 4th round of the same draft as RGIII, and put up some big numbers his first couple of opportunities to fill in last year. But he was a turnover machine when given an extended chance and was benched in favor of McCoy.
Colt was playing well before he was injured and ruled out for the rest of the season. This situation bears watching, and it could provide the best opportunity for the Hawks to make a move. The relationship between John Schneider and Washington GM Scott McCloughan is strong, and bore the fruit of the draft day trade for Tyler Lockett. Personally I prefer McCoy, and if he was made available early in camp I would love to see the Hawks jump all over it.
