Expect the CB depth chart to see a mix up
Big money free agent signee Cary Williams didn’t have the best game. Neither did nickel back Will Blackmon. Both need to be looking over their shoulders at the youngsters behind them.
Tharold Simon is finally healthy, and appeared to outplay Williams. The Seahawks spent a lot of money on Williams in part because Simon struggled so much in the playoffs last year and needed shoulder surgery.
Williams may be the starter for Week 1, but that doesn’t mean he’ll hold that spot for very long.
If Blackmon cannot hold on to his job as the starting nickel corner over Marcus Burley and Tye Smith, then he likely won’t stick on the roster. The alternatives are simply much younger and cheaper.
The depth chart seems fairly set not too long ago. That is clearly not the case any more.
