Seattle Seahawks: 5 reasons to watch Thursday’s preseason finale
By Keith Myers
The Seattle Seahawks take the field on Thursday against the Oakland Raiders in their preseason finale. It is a game where most of the starters won’t play, and those that do will only play one series.
To many fans, this is an excuse to change the channel and watch something else. Take a closer look though, and you’ll see there are plenty of reasons why this game is very important for the Seahawks.
Here are five of the reasons why fans need to watch this Thursday’s game:
Wide Receivers
Unless the Seahawks do the unexpected and cut Jermaine Kearse or Richardo Lockette, then there are three players vying for one spot. Only one of Kasen Williams, Kevin Smith and B.J. Daniels will make the team.
All three have definite talent. All three have made plays in training camp and in the preseason. It is going to be a tough battle.
Williams is the deep threat. He was able to regularly get behind the defense in practice and make big plays. Smith is shiftier and is more likely to get open on intermediate routes. Daniels is a great catch-and-run threat, and can be an emergency QB if disaster strikes.
The one that makes the team will likely be the one that shows the best on Thursday.
