The Offensive Line
In spite of a brutal performance last week, Tom Cable declared this week that this could be the best line that he’s had in Seattle. His comments came off as being a bit delusional based on their performance in the preseason.
It is also easy to see why he is optimistic. The athleticism that the Seahawks have on their line is incredible. If things click, they could be downright dominant, especially in the running game.
Things haven’t clicked yet. In fact, quite the opposite has happened. Confusion and missed blocks have been the one constant the Seahawks have had on offense thus far.
The starting offensive line needs to come together very quickly. All of them except for Russell Okung should play more than normal for the fourth preseason game to try and help make that happen. Hopefully they can show enough to give Seattle fans some hope.
One Final Chance to See Some Players
Thursdays game will be the final time we ever see some of the players that take the field for the Seahawks. Some players will leave for other teams. Others will begin their post-football lives.
We all have our favorite bottom-of-the-roster guys that we root for. For many it was long snapper Nate Boyer until his release a couple of weeks ago. For others it’s BJ Daniels or Thomas Rawls. Who doesn’t love the cancer survivor story of Jesse Williams?
The roster will be cut from 75 to 53 on Tuesday. As sad as it is, some of these faces will be gone from Seattle forever.
We should definitely take the time to enjoy our one last chance to see them play.
