As a Canadian Seahawks fan, Jon Ryan has long been a personal favorite of mine. The University of Regina alum has built quite a resume over the past 9 seasons in the Emerald City. Ryan has averaged 44.7 yards per punt during his career, and has had just 6 of his 683 punts blocked. He is a big reason why the Seahawks consistently win the field position battle, as at least 27 of his punts have landed inside the opponents’ 20-yard line every season since 2009.

It may come as a surprise to some, but Ryan has never represented Seattle at the Pro Bowl. However, that could change in 2015, as the 33-year-old appears primed for a career year. He averaged 46.8 yards per punt this preseason. Even more impressive, 8 of Ryan’s 21 punts this summer landed inside the 20-yard line.

Jon Ryan is one of the unsung heroes on the Seahawks, and hopefully he is rewarded for his efforts with a trip to Hawaii this winter.
