In the Pete Carroll era, the Seattle Seahawks have lived by three words:

“Next man up.”

The Kam Chancellor holdout saga has extended into the season, and that leaves Dion Bailey, a hybrid linebacker/safety from USC, to step into Chancellor’s role.

If you aren’t familiar with Bailey’s game, here’s a quick highlight reel from his days at USC:

Obviously he’s no Chancellor, but Bailey is fully capable of making tackles in the open field and has flashed coverage skills as well.

Bailey may be the most important player on the field for the Seahawks. If he plays well and the team finds a way to win, Chancellor does not have a choice but to return to the team.
