Dion Bailey – Stock Down
Dion Bailey was tasked with taking over for Kam Chancellor, and he proved to be an insufficient replacement. The former USC Trojan finished with 4 tackles and failed to make any Chancellor-esque plays in the secondary.
Bailey had trouble covering the Rams’ tight ends, as they combined to catch 7 balls for 127 yards. Obviously, not all of these catches came against Bailey, but most of them did. Bailey tripped over his own feet attempting to cover Lance Kendricks on his game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Seattle sorely missed Chancellor’s pressence, and unfortunately, I don’t see that changing this week. Bailey will be tested early and often this weekend, as he faces off against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ talented receiving core. Bailey needs to make a few big hits over the middle, otherwise Randall Cobb and his cohorts could have a huge night.
