Here are the highlights:
On the status of Marshawn Lynch’s injured hamstring:
"“His hamstring seemed to bother him a little bit in the middle of the game, so we’re gonna take care of that. Fortunately we have an extra day so that helps. He’s getting one today (an MRI) for sure on his hamstring. We have a couple days here to figure it out. We really won’t know until Friday, the MRI will be important though when we get the results back from that. We really won’t know until we start practicing.”"
On rookie RB Thomas Rawls’ 104 yard performance in place of Lynch:
"“He did really well. He’s been a very accurate guy in reading the line of scrimmage and been very consistent for us. He broke some tackles and made some yards after contact that were good and it was really fun watching him play.”"
On Brandon Mebane’s injury (groin, left game in the first quarter):
"“He kind of got in an awkward position, got in a pileup and strained his groin. We need to see what that feels like in a couple days. He was getting around OK today from what the trainers said. But we’ll have to wait and see.”"
On Jordan Hill’s play in place of Mebane:
"“He did well, he was very active, he’s been active in his opportunities. It seems like he was one of the guys who really has improved. He’s getting after it in the running game. That’s a real plus for us.”"
On the play of the much-criticized offensive line:
"“It improved during the game, it got better as we went. Once we got going it was a terrific performance. We didn’t protect the passer as much as we would like early….. that was a combination of things, it’s not always the guys blocking up front, gotta get open a little bit, gotta get rid of the ball a little bit, all those things contribute. I think we’re still progressing, I think we’re still getting better. I thought Drew (Nowak) played maybe his best game (at center), his most aggressive game blocking in the running game. He was fine in pass protection for the most part. It’s just this process and we’re growing and getting better and glad that everyone is coming back this week and we’ll go again with the same guys and we expect to keep improving.”"
On the contributions of fullbacks Derrick Coleman and Will Tukuafu to the teams 159 yard rushing performance:
"“Those guys had some blocks now, Derrick had a couple great blocks in there and really was aggressive it was great to see that. Will did a very nice job too from the fullback spot and the tight end spot, he had his shots, those guys had a very good game I thought.”"
On the return to the field of safety Kam Chancellor after a 55 day contract holdout:
"“He was really solid, he did everything right, he was in the right spots. There’s a couple hits he can clean up, he was glancing off things when he was cleaning up piles and all but he was going after it. How he did it in a weeks time I don’t know but he was very much in command and made his calls and fit in right and had everybody in the right place.”"
