Seahawks midterm grades, position by position

I almost gave them a D, because they were pretty solid in week #2 against Green Bay, but the regression in the two weeks since made this an easy call. Nowak shows flashes of why the coaches WANT him to be the guy, but he may be better off taking a breather while Patrick Lewis gives it a try. Russell Okung has continued regressing at a shocking rate for a player his age (28), J.R. Sweezy looks like “just a guy” rather than the soon-to-be-All-Pro Tom Cable has built him up to be, and Justin Britt has been so bad at guard you almost wish James Carpenter was still here.

Almost.
At time, the best of the bunch appears to be converted tight end Garry Gilliam at RT. He gets blown up in the run game at times but seems to be improving, and he’s pretty darn good in pass pro.
Cable announced yesterday that this same 5 will start against Cincinnati. If they don’t show improvement something drastic will have to be done or this could be a lost season.
