Seahawks Injury Update: Lynch will play, Linebacker a concern
By Keith Myers
The Seattle Seahawks limp home to CenturyLink field this week. They’re banged up and going to be playing without some of their usual depth. The Seahawks injury update released today was the longest of the year so far. Linebacker is a particular concern, though they are getting back one of their star offensive players.
Marshawn Lynch is listed as questionable. Under Pete Carroll, that means he should play, and Carroll indicated that Wilson will play on Thursday. Lynch was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday.
He may see fewer snaps than normal as the team eases him back into the field. The success of Thomas Rawls the last 3 weeks makes that an easy choice for the coaches.
Bobby Wagner is also listed as questionable, which is a good sign. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, and it appeared that he was going to miss this week’s game. That he is listed as questionable means that he is likely to play.
Both of Wagner’s backups are also hurt. Nick Moody is doubtful with an ankle injury. Players listed as doubtful almost never play under Carroll. The other backup, Brock Coyle, is questionable. Coyle was limited in practice this week, but should be available Sunday.
That means that we should see KJ Wright move inside for at least part of Sunday’s game. This is made easier by the return of Kevin Pierre-Louis. KPL is listed as probably, and will play.
The big news is the removal of Brandon Mebane from the injury report. He’s healthy and ready to go. That is a big deal given that the Seahawks are banged up all across the defensive line.
Jordan Hill, Frank Clark, Tye Smith and Marcus Burley are all expected to miss Sunday’s game
