Seahawks vs Panthers: Analysis of Inactives
By Keith Myers
A banged-up Seattle Seahawks teams hosts an undefeated Carolina Panthers team at CenturyLink field in just under 90 minutes. That means that it is time to see which players will be not suiting up to play this week.
Remember that although roster have 53 players, only 46 can play each week. Teams must declare seven inactive for every game.
Seahawks Inactives
The Seahawks will be without Bobby Wagner due to a pec injury. There has been hope that he’d play, but he is unable to go. With Wagner out, KJ Wright moves inside and Kevin Pierre-Louis will take over as the weak side linebacker.
The other option would normally be for Brock Coyle to replace Wagner in the middle. Coyle is also out, as is Nick Moody, so the Seahawks are extremely short-handed at LB today.
Other than that there are no surprises here. Jordan Hill, Frank Clark, Tye Smith, and Marcus Burley were all not expected to play.
All seven of Seattle’s inactives are injured.
Kristjan Soloki, the super-athletic defensive end turned offensive lineman, is active for the first time in his NFL career.

An interesting name here is Kevin Norwood. He was a Seattle draft pick before last season, and was traded to Carolina during the preseason when the Panthers were desperate at the position.
The Panthers come to town relatively healthy after having their bye last week. This is a perfect opportunity for them to avenge repeated losses to the Seahawks over the last few seasons. If they cannot get it done against a Seattle team decimated by injuries, then they clearly aren’t as good as their record implies.
