Stock Down: Tyler Lockett

The hotshot rookie was a big disappointment this week against the Panthers. Tyler Lockett failed to haul in a single reception this week, and Russell Wilson did not target the speedy wide out at all. Lockett was also a bust in the return game, averaging 12 yards per kick return and 7 yards per punt.

The worst play Lockett made was his last. After the Panthers pushed ahead late in the 4th, the Kansas State alum had a chance to run back the kickoff with 36 seconds left. Lockett caught the kick a couple yards into the end zone, and proceeded to get taken down at the Seahawks 9 yard line. Obviously, running the kick back for a touchdown is an unreasonable expectation, but getting out to the 20 or 30 yard line would have been helpful.

Seattle would be wise to work Lockett into the offensive game plan this week with bubble screens and designed plays. The diminutive 23-year-old is a game changer when used properly, and he could help Hawks get more splash plays.
