Seahawks vs Vikings: Inactives and Roster Analysis
By Keith Myers
Roster Inactives have been announced for both the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings. There are some big names out for both teams.
We are about an hour from kickoff between the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings. That means that the roster inactives have been announced and we can see what players won’t be in uniform today.
Seahawks Inactives
The lack of Paul Richardson’s name on this list doesn’t mean he’s playing. The Seahawks placed him on IR yesterday, ending his season.
The big news here is that both Jordan Hill and Demarcus Dobbs are out. This was expected, but it still hurts. The Seahawks will be without two of their defensive linemen in a game where the primary focus will be to stop the league’s best running back.
In their place will AJ Francis. He’s a big 2-gap specialist, and he’ll be making his debut today. Because of his ability to eat up blocks against the run, he is expected to see a lot of playing time.
RB DuJuan Harris is active as well. He was on the practice squad, and was signed to the active roster to fill Richardson’s roster spot.
Both Will Tukuafu and Marcus Burley are active. Both were questionable this week.
It should also be noted that Cary Williams is a healthy scratch once again. If his contract wasn’t guaranteed, he probably would have been cut by now.
Vikings Inactives
Rival Joseph being out is a major blow for the Vikings. He’s the big run stuffing NT that anchors their run defense.
Anthony Barr is active and will play. He was questionable, and missed most of the week of practice. With Joseph out, the Vikings couldn’t afford to also be without their best linebacker, so they’re happy he’s placing.
An underrated scratch this week is safety Andrew Sendejo. The Vikings have one of the league’s best pass defenses, but they will be without one of their starting safeties.
