NFL TV Maps for Week 17

The NFL TV Maps show the Seattle Seahawks in the afternoon time slot on Fox for their Week 17 matchup.

This is the final week of the NFL TV Maps for the 2015 season. All playoff games are televised nationally, so the maps won’t be needed until next season.

This is the first time all year that there will be four games on local TV. The networks typically alternate which one gets to show two games, while the other only has one game one. This 2-and-1 rule is archaic and needs to die.

The Seattle Seahawks play in the afternoon time slot on Fox. It is fairly rare that the Seahawks get a road game in the afternoon. Most are either in prime time or in the morning slot.

Oddly, one of the games on CBS is STL-SF. That’s an NFC game, and Fox owns the rights to show NFC games. This is the second time this year that an all-NFC game has been shown on CBS. The networks are free to trade games if they wish to, which is what has happened here.

The morning game on Fox is Washington-Dallas. It is hard to imagine a less interesting game. Dallas is terrible this season, and Washington’s only incentive to play hard in this game is to avoid being an 8-8 playoff team. That game will likely end up unwatchable bad.

The only incentive Seattle fans might have to watch that game is to get a good look at one of the teams the Seahawks could play in the playoffs. Unfortunately though, Dallas is so bad that it is unlikely that we’ll learning anything useful.

One final time, I need to give a major “Thank You” to the awesome people at 506 Sports for creating these TV maps. They do a fantastic job, and their work isn’t replaceable in any way.
