Seahawks vs. Cardinals: Inactives and Roster Analysis

The inactive list for the Seattle Seahawks is full of guys who are typically starters.

We’re about 90 minutes from kickoff today between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals. That means it is time for both teams to release their list of players who will not be in uniform.

The Seahawks have a lot of injuries and very little to play for in this one. It would not be surprising to see the team pull key starters like Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas early in this game and rest them for the playoffs next week.

Seahawks Inactives

No surprises here for Seattle. The Seahawks have no wiggle room here because of all of the injuries. Lynch wasn’t even in Seattle this week, but he is expected back on Monday.

J.R. Sweezy is out with a concussion, in his spot is expected to be rookie Mark Glowinski. Glow has the making of a very good guard in this league, but his inexperience will likely show at times today.

Also out with a concussion is TE Luke Willson. While Cooper Helfet should start, the team will likely use Chase Coffman more today. Coffman is the far better blocker, and doesn’t have Helfet’s stone hands.

There had been some hope that Russell Okung would be back this week, but that didn’t happen. His strained calf will keep him out one more week. Alvin Bailey will get the start in his spot.

On defense, Kam Chancellor remains out with just tailbone injury. Kelcie McCray gets his third start at strong safety.

Michael Bennett will play, but be missed a bunch of practice this week with a toe injury. Since this is a mostly meaningless game, he is unlikely to get his usual snap count. Expect to see much more Frank Clark today.

Cardinals Inactives

Arizona is playing for a chance at the No. 1 seed. Unless Carolina gets a big early lead in their game, Arizona will likely won’t pull their starters in this one.

Arizona comes into this game mostly healthy. There was some concern that WR Michael Floyd would miss the game, but he’s active.
