Christine Michael played well

Without the help of a passing game to extend drives and get the running game more touches, Christine Michael still had a good game.

The numbers weren’t spectacular. He finished with 21 carries for 70 yards. His longest carry was only for 13 yards.

But lost in that stat line were that most of those yards were hard-earned. The line played poorly, and Michael didn’t have many holes to work with.

Michael also turned his one target into a big 14 yard gain that created a first down when the team desperately needed one. Throw in a few solid blocks in pass protection, and you can see that this was a solid all-around performance by Michael.

The coaches noticed too. Bryce Brown didn’t receive a single touch on offense. With the game on the line in the 4th quarter, Michael played 16 of Seattle’s final 17 snaps. Even Fred Jackson took a back seat to Michael.

That’s a good sign for the Seahawks moving forward. Thomas Rawls is still the future at RB for he Seahawks, but it’ll be nice to have Michael as a solid backup behind him.
