Seattle Seahawks Injury Report – Divisional Round
The Seattle Seahawks are taking a wait and see approach when it comes to running back Marshawn Lynch and if he will play on Sunday.
It would be an understatement to say that fans were disappointed when Lynch didn’t make the trip to Minnesota for the Wild Card game last week. After having what appeared to be a strong week in practice, Lynch told the team right before they were leaving that he wouldn’t be making the trip.
The Seahawks won the game without Lynch and now hope he’ll return to for this week’s divisional game against the Carolina Panthers. He has been full practice this week. However, head coach Pete Carroll has said Lynch is still day to day.
This week’s injury report is quite encouraging. Fullback Will Tukuafu was the only player who didn’t practice. Tukuafu hurt his hamstring in last Sunday’s game. If Tukuafu cannot play on Sunday, Derrick Coleman be the lead blocker.
Defensive end Michael Bennett was limited today with a toe injury. This is the same injury Bennett had a non-surgical procedure on a few weeks ago. It has been a lingering injury, but nothing that should keep him from playing this week.
After missing the last two games due to a concussion, tight end Luke Willson participated fully in practice. Willson had become a large part of the offense after tight end Jimmy Graham’s season ended in injury back at the end of November.
Here is the full list from today.
Full Practice:
RB Marshawn Lynch
TE Luke Willson
Limited Practice:
DE Michael Bennett
Did Not Practice:
FB Will Tukuafu
So the question becomes will he or won’t he. Will Lynch be on the plane to Charlotte on Friday? Carroll seems encouraged, but won’t commit.
Fans are skeptical. The Panthers really hope not. We will have to wait and see if Beastmode’s return happens this week, and if he returns, how much he will play.
