Pick #5: Jacksonville Jaguars – Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida State

Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley was given a vote of confidence from owner Shahid Kahn and will return for his fourth season at the helm, but if there isn’t a big jump in wins in 2016 it may be his last. Bradley arrived with the reputation of defensive guru after serving as Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator for three years, but that hasn’t exactly shown up on the field in Jacksonville yet. The front seven is decent, but what Bradley needs is a big time shut down corner. Ramsey certainly fits the bill and should be there for the taking.

The first true freshman to start at corner back for the Seminoles since Deion Sanders, Ramsey started all 41 games at Florida State through his junior year, finishing with only 3 INT’s but 23 total pass breakups. At 6’1″ and 202 lbs he could stand to add some more muscle to his frame, but he’s an extremely willing and competent run defender on the edge, with 180 career tackles including 15 for loss.

He showed great versatility, lining up in the slot at times and even making a few starts at free safety in 2014. But his best spot is on the outside, where he looks to be an elite shutdown CB prospect.
