The Seattle Seahawks are raising ticket prices again, but also promising some fan-friendly stadium improvements.

In a move that should shock no one, the Seattle Seahawks announced today that ticket prices are once again going up. Team president Peter McLoughlin said in a press release and a direct email to season ticket holders this morning that prices will increase an average rate of 4% across the board.

“Thank you for your incredible support in helping the Seahawks reach the postseason for the 10th time in the last 13 seasons. The passion and excitement that you bring to CenturyLink Field on gameday is appreciated by our entire front office, players and coaches,” McLoughlin said. “Your commitment to being a 12 resonates far beyond CenturyLink Field and is a source of pride for all of us.Demand for Seahawks season tickets is at an all-time high. With a 99.6% renewal rate two years in a row, 61,500 season tickets sold, and a 12,000 ticket Blue Pride waiting list, Seahawks season tickets are a hot commodity.”

But McLoughlin also pointed out that fans can expect to see some key improvements to the game day experience. Most notably, there will be walk-through metal detectors that should speed up entrance times. There will also be a new LED “ribbon” display around the rim of the stadium that will display the game score, clock, and stats that have previously only been available on smaller boards located in the upper corners.

Once again, individual game tickets will be done on a tiered basis, with the more attractive games priced higher. Those prices won’t be set until the official schedule is released later this Spring.
