Seahawks sign J’Marcus Webb, finally address OLine
By Keith Myers
With three of their top six offensive linemen from last season no longer on the roster, the Seattle Seahawks signed veteran J’Marcus Webb.
The Seattle Seahawks have finally address the desperate situation on their offensive line. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, they are signing J’Marcus Webb to a two-year contract.
Webb started his career as an offensive tackle with Bears the Vikings. Let’s just say it didn’t go all that well and leave it at that.
Webb converted to guard last season with Oakland, and looked much better. He is a bit tall for the interior line, but the confined space fit his skill set better.

For Seattle, this is clearly an attempt to add a veteran starter to their terrible offensive line. All that guaranteed money means his spot on the roster is set. For now, you can pencil him in as one of the starting guards.
Webb also brings versatility to the position group. If the Seahawks were to deal with a lot of injuries at the position. Webb could slide outside to tackle. That certainly wouldn’t be ideal, but sometimes you simply don’t have a choice.
The Seahawks now have three players who will compete for playing time at guard. Mark Glowinski had been pencilled in to start at RG before this signing. Justin Britt is the returning starter at LG, but he was arguably the worst OG in the NFL last season.
Throw in Kristjan Sokoli and Drew Nowak into the mix, and there appears to be quite a battle brewing along the interior of the offensive line for roster spots.
While this still isn’t the most talented position on the roster, at least there is finally hope that they won’t be completely terrible all year.
