NFL Schedule Release Tomorrow? Yes Please!
By Keith Myers
The NFL schedule is done and ready, and it looks like it’ll be released on Thursday. The landscape of the 2016 season will finally be known.
The 2016 NFL schedule is on its way to an internet browser near you. The PR department of the NFL said as much this morning.
This is fairly typical fanfare for the NFL. Who else announces when they’re going to have an announcement?
Mike Jureki of Fox Sports may have messed up the “announcement about the announcement” thing though, since he just came out and told everyone when the schedule release was going to happen.
That seems like a tremendously fast turnaround for NFL Network. Last year we knew the schedule release was coming for a few days before it happened. Of course, a Thursday prime-time slot will generate the best ratings, so there is definitely some incentive for them to push this out quickly.
Of course, we already know the opponents the Seahawks will face this season. All that’s left to find out is the order of the games and which ones will be in primetime. That is kind of unimportant, right?
Nope. Just look at last year when the Seahawks’ reworked offensive line had to start with 2 tough road games at the beginning of the season. Then there’s the fact that Seattle faced what felt like 20 teams that were coming off of their bye week (which is remarkable for a 16-game regular season!).
At least now we know when to be ready. Does that make this an announcement about an announcement about an announcement on when the schedule will be announced? My head hurts now.
