Random thoughts on the Seahawks 2016 schedule

The Seattle Seahawks 2016 schedule was released yesterday evening. After taking some time to process everything, a few random thought developed that needed to be shared.

I’m not quite sure why we get so excited about the NFL releasing it’s schedule, but we do. We can deny it, but the truth is that we greedily devour every choice nugget of info that slowly trickles out on release day.

After taking some time to process everything a bit, there are a couple random pieces of information that need to be passed along and shared.

Color Rush

The Seahawks play the Rams on Thursday Night Football this year. That game will feature a new one-time-use uniform as a part of the league’s “color rush” campaign. We still don’t know what those uniforms will look like though, but if the color rush games from last year are any indication, they’ll likely be hideous.

The first thing I thought of that was these jerseys that the team wore in training camp, but with matching pants.

It’ll be like those nasty 2009 alternate jerseys all over again. Only this time, the Rams will likely show up in some pastel yellow grossness as well.

Please excuse me while I try not to vomit.

Making the 2016 Seahawks schedule

If you haven’t seen it (or even you have and just want to watch it again), check out this awesome video posted by the Seahawks on creating their 2016 schedule.

That video is pure awesomeness. I love the tiny toy airplane for the Jets. I don’t know why, but I do.

It does leave me wondering though: Are the Seahawks calling this a cupcake schedule? Compared to last season, it might end up being easy, but still…

Traveling Fans

Two games stand out for fans that are looking for an away game to travel to. The first would be the Sept 18th game in Los Angeles.

Any chance to head to Hollywood and watch a little football should be taken. The problem is that it’ll still be incredibly hot there, and that the Coliseum is a complete dump. It really is a poor venue for a football game. You might be better waiting until the new stadium is completed.

October 30th in New Orleans is probably the best looking road game in a few years. Halloween in NOLA? Yes please!

That can’t possibly be a downside here, can there? ya, I didn’t think so.
