Updated NFL Mock Draft with the Rams picking No. 1, and Myles Jack slipping a bit after a concerning medical report.

The LA Rams shook up the draft world earlier this week by trading up for the No. 1 overall pick. All across the nation, draft pundits are frantically trying to decipher how that move will change the landscape of the draft, while simultaneously burning any NFL mock draft they’ve already done.

Things are no different here at 12thMR. We can try and play it cool and act like it isn’t a big deal, but we’d be lying. There is a ripple effect here that changes which players we can expect to be available for Seattle. All our projections have to change.

With that in mind, here is my latest first-round mock draft. On top of the Rams trade, I also have UCLA LB/S/RB Myles Jack slipping a bit. There seems to be growing concern that his knees have a potential long-term issue.

1. Los Angeles Rams

California. Jared Goff . 1. player. 51. The Rams traded up for a QB to help them excite the LA market. Wentz might end up the better player, but it will be much easier to sell the in-state college star.. QB

2. Cleveland Browns

QB. North Dakota State. Carson Wentz . 2. player. 53. Wentz has a higher ceiling than Goff, but also a lower floor. With LA going the safe route, the Browns get to swing for the fences.

3. San Diego Chargers

player. 13. Tunsil will be tempting, but the Chargers must get faster on defense. Ramsey will be a major upgrade no matter where the coaching staff decides to play him in the secondary.. CB/FS. Florida State. Jalen Ramsey . 3

4. Dallas Cowboys

This works out very well for Dallas, who need to upgrade the talent level of their front 7.. DE. Ohio State. Joey Bosa . 4. player. 123

5. Jacksonville Jaguars

DE. Clemson. Shaq Lawson . 5. player. 52. Jacksonville spent big money to upgrade their defense in free agency. Adding a pure explosive pass rusher like Lawson would make that defense quite formidable.

6. Baltimore Ravens

6. player. 26. The Ravens should probably pull the trigger on Zeke here, but Tunsil is too much to pass up. They end up getting the No. 1 player in this draft class all the way down at No. 6. They have to like that.. OT. Ole Miss. Laremy Tunsil

7. San Francisco 49ers

42. San Francisco missed out the top QBs, so instead they continue to try and re-stock a defense that lost a tremendous amount of talent a year ago.. DE. Oregon. DeForest Buckner . 7. player

8. Philadelphia Eagles

54. The Eagles spent a lot of money a year ago on veteran RBs, and it didn’t work out. Picking up Zeke here makes all of that mess go away.. RB. Ohio State. Ezekiel Elliott . 8. player

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

WR. TCU. Josh Doctson . 9. player. 48. The dynamic Doctson is the perfect compliment to Mike Evans, and would give Tampa Bay one of the best young WR duos in the NFL.

10. New York Giants

31. This pick was a tough one to project. The Giants should be able to get the offensive help they need later in the draft, so I don’t think they pass on the chance to get a top CB.. CB. Florida. Vernon Hargreaves III . 10. player

11. Chicago Bears

11. player. 57. Chicago’s defense needs help everywhere, and Rankins is the kind of talent that make everyone around him better.. DT. Louisville. Sheldon Rankins

12. New Orleans Saints

15. Myles Jack is a top 5 talent, but conerns about his knee will cause him to drop. The Saints’ defense has been historically bad recently, and Jack makes them instantly better.. OLB. UCLA. Myles Jack . 12. player

13. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have spent huge money on their defensive line. Lee gives them the LB they still need to turn that investment into a dominant front 7.. OLB. Ohio State. Darron Lee . 13. player. 59

14. Oakland Raiders

Ohio State. Eli Apple . 14. player. 28. Oakland has a nice young roster at the moment, but they need help at CB. Eli Apple fits their scheme very well.. CB

15. Tennessee Titans

OT. Notre Dame. Ronnie Stanley . 15. player. 35. The Titans likely would have taken Tunsil if they’d stay’d at No. 1. Now they get the draft’s second-best OT instead, plus the have all those extra picks from the Rams.

16. Detroit Lions

16. player. 50. The Lions won’t be able to replace Calvin Johnson with just one guy. They added a posession receiver already, and Coleman gives them the deep threat.. WR. Baylor. Corey Coleman

17. Atlanta Falcons

player. 44. The Falcons could go in a lot of directions here, but getting a playmaker on the outside to play opposite Julio Jones will makes things extremely tough on their opponents.. WR. Ole Miss. LaQuon Treadwell . 17

18. Indianapolis Colts

OT. Michigan State. Jack Conklin . 18. player. 46. The Colts must do a better job of protecting Andrew Luck if he’s ever going come close to reaching the level they want him to play at.

19. Buffalo Bills

Georgia. Leonard Floyd . 19. player. 16. Rex Ryan can’t ever seem to stop himself from grabbing another toy for his front 7.. OLB

20. New York Jets

DT. Alabama. A'Shawn Robinson . 20. player. 30. The Jets have a very talented front 7, but there are plenty of long-term concerns there. Getting Robinson now would provide a nice boost in both the short and long-term outlooks.

21. Washington Redskins

22. Houston Texans

22. player. 10. Houston has a great defensive front, but they need some help in the secondary. Jackson upgrades an already-tough defense.. CB. Houston. William Jackson III

23. Minnesota Vikings

60. Patterson has been a major bust. If this offense is going to take the next step, they need to improve at WR.. WR. Notre Dame. Will Fuller . 23. player

24. Cincinnati Bengals

56. This is one of the easiest matches in this draft. Cinci needs an upgrade at center, and Kelly is the best one available by a wide margin.. C. Alabama. Ryan Kelly . 24. player

25. Pittsburgh Steelers

Clemson. Mackensie Alexander . 25. player. 55. Just like the last 3 offseasons, the Steelers MUST improve their secondary. With a player like Alexander, they might actually do so this time.. CB

26. Seattle Seahawks

26. player. 36. Having Billings drop this far is a blessing for Seattle. They need to replace Brondon Mebane, and Billings will do just that.. DT. Baylor. Andrew Billings

27. Green Bay Packers

27. player. 49. The Packers have been such a mess at ILB the last two seasons that they’ve moved Clay Matthews inside. Ragland’s presence fixes that problem, which upgrades the defense at two positions.. ILB. Alabama. Reggie Ragland

28. Kansas City Chiefs

Michael Thomas . 28. player. 124. Kansas City’s offense evolved nicely last year after picking up Maclin. Thomas will allow them to diversify further and really take some pressure off their defense to play perfectly.. WR. Ohio State

29. Arizona Cardinals

32. “You know what Arizona doesn’t need? More pass rushers” -everyone else in the NFC West. DE. Eastern Kentucky. Noah Spence . 29. player

30. Carolina Panthers

87. The defense is set, but the offense desperately needs more weapons. Boyd is the best WR stll on the board.. WR. Pittsburgh. Tyler Boyd . 30. player

31. Denver Broncos

45. This is a dream scenario for Denver. They get to sit back and wait, and they still get the QB in this draft that best fits their offense.. QB. Memphis. Paxton Lynch . 31. player
