John Schneider and Pete Carroll have made plenty of good draft selections since arriving in Seattle in 2010.  Making the correct draft pick is vital to a team’s success, and these 5 players have helped build the Seahawks into a championship caliber team.

When John Schneider and Pete Carroll arrived in Seattle the team was in need of an energy spark and some added life, which is exactly what these two masterminds did.  They brought in gritty and unique players who helped change the culture of the team.  Here is my take on the 5 best NFL draft picks that Schneider and Carroll have made for the Seattle Seahawks.

5) Bobby Wagner

Wagner was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2012 NFL draft, and he proved to be an impact player early on in his career.  Wagner came in and started 15 games in his rookie season and led the team with 140 total tackles.  Since then Wagner has continued to get better with each season and has proven to be one of the best inside linebackers in the NFL.

Wagner has helped lead the Seahawks defense to historical numbers by using his speed to keep opposing players from finding much room.  Wagner’s communication and leadership has also been vital to the team’s success, which was demonstrated when his teammates voted him to be the defensive captain last season.

When the Seahawks made the selection to draft Bobby Wagner in 2012, they found a star at linebacker.  Wagner is often overlooked, but he is just as important as any other player on the Seahawks.  Without him, this defense wouldn’t be able to function at the same level.
