2) Richard Sherman

Sherman was drafted in the 5th round of the 2011 NFL draft and only the people in the Seahawks’ draft room could have envisioned the success he would eventually have.  Richard Sherman quickly became a top cornerback in the league and has become one of the NFL’s most influential players.

He started 10 games in his rookie year and has started every game since then.  Sherman had 16 interceptions combined in his second and third season, and quarterbacks quickly figured out that it was better to throw away from Sherman, avoiding his side completely.

Sherman consistently does his job at the highest level and the confident swagger he brings has been significant to the Seahawks’ success.  Sherman will continue to lead this team for years to come and make sure they continue playing at a championship level.

Finding an All-Pro player and a strong personality in Sherman all the way in the 5th round will always be remembered as a legendary selection by Schneider and Carroll.
