My final pre-NFL draft mock includes QB intrigue, a surprise in the Top 5, and the Seahawks ……

Waiting for the NFL draft for a die-hard football fan is akin to buying tickets to see your favorite band. There was a time when you only had to wait a few weeks between ticket on-sale day and the moment the lights went down in the arena, but in 2016 you’re often required to make your purchase up to 9 months in advance of the show.

Similarly, it feels like years since the final seconds ticked off the clock at the Super Bowl. Since then we’ve analyzed, over-analyzed, and criticized all the analysis and over-analysis leading up to the yearly talent allocation event. Well heck, it’s almost here!

More from 12th Man Rising

And with all the moves at the top of the first round over the last couple weeks, and the depth and quality of the talent available this year, this should prove to be one of the most intriguing draft weekends we’ve ever seen. Sitting in the 26th spot (for now) sit the Seattle Seahawks. John Schneider always has a Plan A, B, C, D……. and this year he may need to go all the way to Z, because what happens in front of them will determine not only how they execute this draft, but ultimately who they get and when.

So here’s my final stab at a full first round mock draft. I didn’t attempt to figure trades because, well…… I have a life. Kudos to those who do, but I wanted to keep my total time spent on this project to somewhere south of 36 hours or so. In other words, I wanted to finish it before the actual draft begins.

Here we go!

Next: And with the first pick......
