Seahawks Final 7-round Mock Draft, with Trades!
By Brad Howell
6-19 (194th overall, from OAK): James Bradberry, CB, Samford
Bradberry appears to have the physical tools required of a Seahawk cornerback and he did acquit himself well at Senior Bowl practices when working on press coverage techniques. He fits the typical arm length and wingspan measurable of a Seahawks corner (unlike Kalan Reed).
In the limited film I could find (vs Central Arkansas) he played sticky man coverage, displayed adequate ball awareness in flight, and tackled strongly…but it was admittedly against sub-NFL talent. In reality Seattle usually “redshirts” their late round defensive backs for a year anyway so potential likely wins over technical skill for this selection.
Alternate: David Onyemata, DT, Manitoba.
Onyemata is a Canadian prospect who wowed with his motor and athleticism at the Shrine Game and pro day. He’s going to need some development but the athletic traits and raw skills are there. He’s another guy that could play both inside and outside along the defensive line.
6-Comp (215th overall): Arturo Uzdavinis, OT, Tulane
Uzdavinis is a rather raw offensive line prospect from a bad Tulane team, but he possesses the right combination of athletic traits Seattle typically looks for. I watched his game against Houston and saw flashes that made me think he could be a late round selection, but he also had his fair share of losses and holding penalties. With a year of NFL strength training and coaching, he could develop into a valuable swing-tackle.
Alternate: Travis Feeney, LB, UW
Feeney’s athletic traits and college production could easily move him to the second day of the draft. His injury history, however, could kick him back down to day three. I don’t really have a good feel for where exactly he will be drafted, but I think Seattle will be interested if he lasts into Saturday.
