Seahawks trade down in round 1
By Keith Myers
The Seattle Seahawks trade down in the first round with Denver for their first round pick and Denver’s third round selection.
The Seattle Seahawks have done exactly what we all expected them to do. The traded back to pick 31 with the Denver Broncos. Denver moved up to select their QB of the future in Paxton Lynch.
There were multiple teams looking to move up into that spot. Cleveland, Dallas and Jacksonville were also reported to have been in the running for Seattle’s pick. They used that leverage to get a good return for their pick.

The Seahawks give up pick 26 and get pick 31 and a third round pick back from the Broncos. That 3rd round pick is number 94. That is tremendous value.
The Seahawks now have 3 picks at the end of the third round (90, 94,and 97). That is where the best value in this draft class can be found. That’s a great move for the Seahawks.
There was some belief that the Seahawks would stay at 26 and take UCLA LB Myles Jack. Jack was believed to be a top 5 talent, but concerns about his knee have caused him to drop like a rock in water. It appears his knee is worse than anyone thought.
This draft has a fallen in a way that has been great for the Seahawks. Other than Ryan Kelly (who went to Indy), just about everyone else the Seahawks would have been targeting is still on the board.
Billings, Butler, Robinson, Clark, Whitehair, Spriggs are all still on the board. Su’a Cravens and TJ Greene are also guys that there will be interest for. With all those guys still on the board, it is possible that we see Seattle move down once again before they finally add a player.
We’ve only got a few picks before we’ll know for sure.
