5 Seahawk players who’s jobs are on the line
By Dan Viens
CASSIUS MARSH, DE/OLB
When Marsh was taken in the 4th round out of UCLA in 2014 there were reasons to believe he would develop into a pass-rushing terror. He hasn’t. ZERO sacks in his two seasons, and only 13 tackles. As a rotational player last year he proved to be solid against the run, and he’s been a mainstay on special teams, but that’s not what he was drafted for.
There’s almost no chance he sticks around to see his third season. He’s due to count just over $700,000 against the salary cap this season.
Next: Seahawks rookies get their numbers!
Are these the only veterans facing battles this offseason? Of course not. We may be looking at an even deeper group of rookies than the Seahawks welcomed in 2012. And as the team continues to keep the roster young, while also being cognizant of potential savings in their efforts to manage the salary cap, any veteran who finds themselves being out-performed by a rookie may need to start packing.
It’s going to be an intense off season and training camp.
