The Seattle Seahawks have a handful of players that could make opposing quarterbacks very uncomfortable next season, but who will cause the most trouble?

The Seahawks are known for their top ranked defense. It’s been a huge part of who this team is ever since Pete Carroll came to town. Fans have come to expect a lot from the defense, and usually those expectations are met.

One area where the Seahawks have had some trouble is in sacks. Tied for 17th in the league last year, Seattle had 37 sacks on the season. For comparison, Denver, ranked first, had 52. The question becomes, who is on this team that can push that number higher?

In this week’s Twitter of the Twelves, I asked Seahawks fans who they thought would lead the Seahawks in sacks in the 2016 season.

The overwhelming winner was defensive end Michael Bennett with 53% of the vote. This result came as no surprise as Bennett was the team leader in sacks last season with 10. He was the only Seahawk with double-digit sacks and shows no signs of slowing down in 2016. Even with a possible contract dispute looming, fans have high expectations for Bennett.

A lot of people agree with David, as Bennett seems to be hitting his prime. A constant disruption in the backfield, 2 forced fumbles, and 52 tackles in 2015, he is poised to push his sack number even higher.

Frank Clark came in second in our voting. The controversial pick from last year’s draft flashed during the regular season in 2015. Although he wasn’t a regular starter, he played in 15 games netting 3 sacks.

Head coach Pete Carroll spoke on how different Clark was coming into this offseason. Carroll said Clark has lost some weight and come back stronger, leaner. As it’s obvious that Clark is set to take Bruce Irvin’s spot with Irvin leaving to Oakland in free agency, fans expect Clark to be a nightmare for QBs.

Cliff Avril finished in third place in our poll. This was surprising to me as Avril was only one sack behind Bennett last year, at 9 sacks, and because how Avril and Bennett usually work in tandem. It wasn’t uncommon to see both players getting to opposing QBs almost at the same time. Their one two punch was a nightmare for almost every team Seattle played last year.

No matter who gets the most sacks for Seattle next year, with the talent the Seahawks have , the fans are expecting to move up from 17th in the league.

Next week, Twitter of the Twelves will ask fans about the other side of the ball and who will see the end zone the most in 2016.
