Patrick Lewis, C

From starting center to unemployed? It could happen.

While Lewis helped steady the position during last season’s early-season failed experiment with Drew Nowak (another player who went from starter to cut), the team clearly isn’t that high on him. This offseason they moved former 2nd round pick Justin Britt to the pivot, while also drafting and subsequently talking up TCU center Joey Hunt.

Hunt is likely the long-term starter, but may need a little time before he’s thrown into the fire. How well Britt acclimates himself to the middle will determine the center depth chart. If Britt looks good, particularly if he appears capable of starting right away, Lewis will be on the outs.
