Marshawn Lynch’s Fam 1st Family Foundation is raising money to help impoverished kids. They’d like your help to make it happen.
Marshawn Lynch is a really cool dude. We all know that. From his incredible on-field play to his velvet ropes around his car to his awesome press conferences, there might not have ever been a cooler guy to ever put on a Seattle Seahawks uniform. But the coolest thing he does has nothing to do with football.
You likely don’t hear about it very often because Lynch isn’t a guy to boast about anything, but Fam 1st Family Foundation does a lot to help kids in Oakland. Lynch grew up as a poor kid there, and he’s spent a great deal of his time and money helping other kids in that community.
Much of the foundation’s efforts revolve around teaching kids to read. Their goal is to give these kids the skills and opportunities they need to be successful. This includes things like:
- Literacy programs
- Financial Training
- SAT/ACT workshops
- Art classes
The problem they’ve run into is that many of the kids that need help the most lack the ability to get to the workshops the foundation are doing. This is been an ongoing issue. Now Marshawn Lynch thinks he has a solution, and he’s looking for help to make it happen.
The foundation plans on renovating an old bus. Once they get it running well and refurbished, they’ll be able to pick up kids and take them the workshops. If you’ve ever wondered what Lynch would look like driving a bus, well…
