PETE CARROLL AND JOHN SCHNEIDER, LAME DUCKS?

Pete Carroll keeps saying “I’m fine” when asked about his contract status, and national media keeps saying extensions for both men will get done, but when? Both enter the final year of their current deals. At his age, it would seem Carroll is a lock to finish his career in Seattle, but the 45 year old Schneider would be a hot, and expensive, commodity if allowed to test the open market next winter. ESPN’s John Clayton said last week he thinks Schneider will end up being the highest paid GM in the NFL when he agrees to new terms.

But until that happens, Seahawks fans remain nervous that they could possibly lose one or perhaps even both of the men who have built the Seahawks into a perennial Super Bowl contender.

So what’s the hold up?
