WIDE RECEIVERS (5):

  • Doug Baldwin
  • Tyler Lockett
  • Jermaine Kearse
  • Paul Richardson
  • Kasen Williams

TIGHT ENDS (4):

  • Jimmy Graham
  • Nick Vannett
  • Luke Willson
  • Brandon Williams

It may be more typical to keep six WR’s and only 3 TE’s, but it seems likely that the Hawks are planning on using Jimmy Graham in much the same way he was utilized in New Orleans….as a glorified WR. With the addition of Vannett, an outstanding blocker, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell can scrap the whole idea of making Graham play a more traditional role. Now he can play in the slot, and out side. He even slimmed down during rehab from last year’s knee injury, checking in at 260 pounds now.

Besides, there just aren’t any other players dynamic enough to force themselves onto the roster at the receiver spot. Guys like Kevin Smith, Montario Hunter and 7th round draft pick Kenny Lawler should be able to slide through waivers and bide their time on the practice squad.

Meanwhile, 4th year vet Brandon Williams has been the surprise of camp so far, looking the part of textbook, all-around tight end. Together with Vannett and Willson he provides Seattle with an outstanding group of TE’s.
