DOUG BALDWIN:

We’ll start with Baldwin, because he’s clearly become Wilson’s favorite target. That stretch of 11 TD’s in 5 games late last year catapulted him from the realm of consistent performer (or “nice” player) to the top ten in WR average annual salary. But is it sustainable over the course of 16 games?

Not likely.

Is Baldwin a solid fantasy WR? Absolutely. Over his first five seasons he’s averaging 55 catches for 765 yards and 6 TD’s, solid numbers for a WR2 or WR3, depending on how deep your league is.

But it’s fair to expect more. Wilson and Baldwin have developed an excellent chemistry, and Baldwin’s role in the offense has clearly expanded. Watching him work in practice, he’s the #1 option on third downs, and the depth of other offensive weapons will provide opportunities for big plays downfield.

For me, a season of 70/1,000/10 out of Baldwin seems reasonable, but I wouldn’t reach for him too high no matter how much you love him. First round? No. But anything 2nd and lower is excellent value, particularly in a PPR league.

I got Baldwin in the 10th round a year ago in one of my keeper leagues and he’ll be a fantastic value as a keeper.
