Tyvis Powell

Powell won the heart of Seahawks fans during training camp and preseason with his outstanding performance and gritty personality.   After being undrafted last April, he has proven to be in relentless pursuit to make this roster.

Powell has clearly shown that he has the determination and talent to succeed in the NFL, and he showed his ability right from the get go.

His first preseason game was impressive, as he had an interception, a huge block on special teams, and many more impact plays on all special team’s units.  Carroll sang his praises after the game and everyone’s attention was turned to Tyvis Powell from then on.

Powell was mentioned as one of the better undrafted free agents after the draft, and he even took less money to go to the Seahawks.  He wanted to learn from the best in the business – Sherman, Thomas, and Chancellor.

His will to always get better, and do whatever it takes to help the team win, will lead to a successful NFL career.  Watch for Powell to make a major impact on special teams for the Seahawks this season.
