Seahawks vs Dolphins: The Seattle Seahawks picked up a sloppy win to open the 2016 season.

The Seattle Seahawks escaped their opening week game against the Miami Dolphins with a sloppy 12-10 win. It took a blocked FG and a dropped touchdown to make it happen, but ultimately getting the win is all that matters.

This team is clearly still a work in progress, especially on offense. There is a lot of work left to do, but at least the Seahawks opened the season with a win.

Here are my 5 takeaways from Seattle’s sloppy win:

1. The Defense is as good as we expected

Despite no consistent offensive support and two turnovers, the Seahawks held the Dolphins to just 10 points. When that happens, the Seahawks are going to win almost every time.

Seattle stopped the run. They got after Ryan Tannehill and made plays on the football. It was a solid defensive performance all around.

If there is anything to criticize, it would be the lack of turnover and some surprisingly bad play by a a certain All-Pro safety.

Next: Earl Thomas had a bad day
