Week #4 random thoughts have me pondering the importance of a non-conference road game with a hobbled star QB, the arrival of a former top-10 draft pick, and my choice of venues to watch the game.

Week #4 Random Thoughts as the Seahawks travel to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to take on the Jets Sunday.

First things first, how important is an AFC game this early in the season? Important enough to risk further injury to your star quarterback? Yes. The difference between 2-2 and 3-1 could be the difference between earning home field playoff games or having to go on the road. If team doctors and Russell Wilson himself says he can go….let him go. No regrets either way. Get the win…

Did any of us think it would be this hard to replace Marshawn Lynch? Rawls and Prosise haven’t been healthy. Alex Collins has been unproductive. Now CJ Spiller arrives in town. Who would have thought the season could depend on Christine Michael?

More from Seattle Seahawks News

And what can we expect from Spiller? The former Pro Bowler in 2012 who rushed for over 1,200 yards, caught 43 balls and scored 8 TD’s? Not likely, or the Saints wouldn’t have booted him. More than likely he can provide insurance as a 3rd down back while Prosise gets healthy. If he’s right, however, he could add a dynamic element to this backfield…

I can’t wait to see the impact Germain Ifedi has on this offensive line…

Count on Frank Clark to get another sack in this one…

I’m staying in Kent this weekend before hitting the road for Arizona. Wondering where to watch the game Sunday morning. Gators? Meeker Street? The Spot in Renton? I’ll take suggestions…

I think the O-line matches up well with the Jets. They’re big and strong but not as quick as LA or even Miami. Seattle will rush for more than the 71 yards a game NY has given up so far…

The Seahawks won’t get the 6 interceptions of Ryan Fitpatrick that Kansas City did last week, but they’ll snag at least two…

Feels like it’s Tyler Lockett’s turn to have a big game…

Once again this game is a tough read, but the way Seattle’s defense is playing I have to think the Jets will have trouble scoring. Something like 13-9 sounds about right…
