The Seahawks beat the Patriots 31-24 on Sunday night and look to carry this momentum towards the rest of the season, into the playoffs, and eventually to the ultimate goal of a Super Bowl championship.

Beating the Patriots a few days ago was nothing short of magical.  The Seahawks were 7.5 point underdogs, and the majority of analysts weren’t giving Seattle a chance.  The Seahawks instead delivered the upset, and rose to the occasion to play their best football against the top team in the AFC.

Seven games now remain on the Seahawks’ schedule, and they could very well run the table.  Everything is in place for another Super Bowl run, and the excitement level should be high in Seattle.

The Seahawks are a special group of individuals, who have a perfect mixture of experience and youth.  And, they have a head coach in Pete Carroll, who’s the epitome of being both experienced and youthful, even though he’s 65 years old.  It’s a team that’s built for success, and no one wants to face them from here on out.

They have a top 3 quarterback in Russell Wilson, who isn’t even 100% healthy yet.  He’s throwing from the pocket better than ever, and is still on the path to be the NFL’s MVP.  When he’s at full health, Wilson will be virtually impossible to stop.

Wilson also has a ton of playmakers that he can throw the ball to with confidence.  These players include Baldwin, Graham, Lockett, Prosise, Kearse, Richardson, and Luke Willson.  All 7 of them can make big plays for the offense, and opposing defenses simply can’t cover them all.

The Seahawks are getting better at running back right now too, with Thomas Rawls coming back.  Rawls, Prosise, Collins, and Pope are all young, exciting playmakers.  Each player has his own unique skill set, and together they will help get the running game back on track.

The offense, as we all know, has one major weakness and that’s the offensive line.  Let me give you some positive news, though.  They are improving with every week and they will keep getting better as the season goes on.  By the time the playoffs hit, I truly believe that we won’t have to worry about this unit anymore.

More from 12th Man Rising

The Seahawks’ defense has been dominant, once again, this season.  They have come up clutch the last two weeks, holding the Bills and Patriots without a touchdown at the end of the game.

The defensive line has been solid, doing a great job of rushing the passer and holding the opposing running backs to minimal yards.  Cliff Avril has 9 sacks, and Frank Clark has 7.5.  Both these players are having career seasons, and the defensive line will only get better once Michael Bennett comes back.

Bobby Wagner and KJ Wright are both having remarkable seasons as well.  Wagner is leading the NFL in total tackles, with 93.  Wright also has been all over the field, with 77 total tackles.  Wagner and Wright have got to be the best linebacker duo in the NFL this season.

The Legion of Boom continues to make opposing offenses earn everything they get.  They cover you with no room to breathe, and if you catch a pass they make you pay.  Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, and DeShawn Shead are all playing extremely well this year.

The Seahawks have a very talented team, but just as important, they are battle-tested and know how to win tough games.  They are a brotherhood and play together, and for each other, every single game.  That’s what makes them so special; the experiences they have gone through together, and the connection they have with each other.

The second half of the season, the last few years, have been when the Seahawks have turned on the jets and started making a run to the Super Bowl.  This year’s run started with a huge win against the Patriots, and now with only 7 games left in the season, they are about to make something amazing happen.

The Seahawks are a special team and we are witnessing history every time they step on the field.  We need to remind ourselves to appreciate this group of players, as they don’t come around all that often.  In the future, we will be telling our children, grandchildren and our great-grandchildren about this amazing Seattle Seahawks team.

Soak it in, don’t take it for granted, and get ready for another magical 2nd half of the season, an exciting playoff run, and a Super Bowl trip to Houston.  And, finally, if we know anything about this team, we will be celebrating a Super Bowl victory with many hugs and tears with the rest of the 12s in February.
