Seattle Seahawks Injury List and One Possible Return
A long list of newly-injured Seattle Seahawks dampens the mood of a possible return by defensive end Michael Bennett
Several Seahawks players sustained injuries in Sunday’s 26-15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Safety Earl Thomas, cornerback Deshawn Shead and running back C.J. Prosise are the three most notable ones.
Defense
Both Thomas and Shead suffered 1st-degree hamstring strains and will likely be out 10-14 days. This will likely end Thomas streak of starting every game of his professional career.
Linebacker Brock Coyle (foot) and Neiko Thorpe (cramps) were others on the injury report for defensive players.
Offense
C.J. Prosise suffered a scapula injury. There is still know word on the severity of the injury, but recovery time should be somewhere between 4-8 weeks.
Things looked good for running back Troymaine Pope, who was upgraded to the active roster last week but that went downhill quickly as he too, left Sunday’s game injured. Pope has a high-ankle sprain and is likely headed to injured reserve.
“He sprained his ankle. (He’s) got a little bit of a high ankle sprain, unfortunately,” Carroll said of Pope in his post game conference.
Staying on the offensive side, two other players that left Sunday’s game due to injury: wide receiver Tanner McEvoy (toe) and starting left tackle George Fant (shoulder). Fant was replaced by rookie Rees Odhiambo.
“That was great for him to have a chance to get out there and he did a nice job,” Carroll said of the rookie’s performance. “It seemed like he held up his part of it it.”
