Seahawks Inactives: The Seattle Seahawks will be without four defensive starters this week as they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Seattle Seahawks head down to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unfortunately, the list of Seahawks inactives contains four defensive starters, include a pair of the team’s biggest stars.

Seahawks inactives

If you look at Seattle’s injury report from this week, the list of Seahawks inactives won’t be much a surprise. Everyone on the list is injured, so no one is a healthy scratch this week.

The biggest names on this list are Earl Thomas and Michael Bennett. The Seahawks will be without 2 of their biggest defense stars this week.

Thomas has a strained hamstring suffered week. He could be back in time for next week’s game, but there was no chance he was going to play today. In his spot will likely be Steven Terrell, though Kelcie McCray is also an option at FS.

Bennett will miss his 4th straight game with a knee injury. This is the 3rd game since he had minor surgery on that knee. He is expected to be back next week as well.

The Seahawks will also be without DeShawn Shead in the secondary. The starting CB also has a hamstring injury, just like Thomas. Jeremy Lane will start in Shead’s spot, and special teams ace Neiko Thorpe will take over Lane’s spot as the nickel corner.

Complicating things for Seattle is that Brock Coyle, who has been starting at SAM LB the last few weeks, is also out. That’s the LB spot that splits time with the nickel corner. The Seahawks won’t be able to make up for the lack of CB depth just by playing more base defense.

On the offensive side of things, the issue is at RB. Both CJ Prosise and Troymane Pope are out for the foreseeable future. It’ll be up to Alex Collins and George Farmer to backup Thomas Rawls this week.

Buccaneers Inactives

Tampa Bay’s inactives list is a group of guys who rarely play. This is a mostly healthy team, so only their back of the roster depth is inactive this week.

The one exception is Rodgers. The versatile RB is a great weapon in the passing game, and Tampa will miss his presence this week vs. Seattle.
