While obviously there are no National Football League games in April, this month may be the most important of the offseason. Not only does this month contain the draft, the NFL will also release the schedule for 2017 sometime between April 17th and 21st.

The Seattle Seahawks already know who their opponents will be this coming season and where they will play those teams. The Seahawks do not know yet when they will play their opponents, however.

In home games in 2017, the Seahawks will play Arizona, San Francisco, the Rams, Washington, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Indianapolis and Houston.

In away games Seattle will play Arizona, San Francisco and the Rams again, along with the Giants, Dallas, Green Bay, Tennessee and Jacksonville.

The Seahawks’ opponents include four division winners in 2016 and five playoff teams total. Three of those teams are on the road. Besides the 2016 playoff teams, Seattle will play improving Tennessee away from CenturyLink as well. Overall, the road schedule is fairly daunting.

Also of note, no NFL can have more than six primetime games. Seattle had five in 2016. The Seahawks should be expected to have at least four primetime games in 2017.

Though the Seahawks face plenty of 2016 playoff teams, Seattle is still in excellent position to win 12 or 13 games. The Seahawks are expected to be better than last season and six of their games come against the weak NFC West. Sure, the Cardinals got a tie and a win versus Seattle last year. The Seahawks could have, and possibly should have, won both meetings. Seattle was in a position late in both games to win.

Also, a team like the Seahawks that can compete for a Super Bowl in 2017 should also have a chance to defeat any team they play. The 2017 version of the Seahawks will basically be the same team that defeated the New England Patriots in Foxborough last season. And the Patriots were pretty good as it turned out.
