Mike Davis makes 11th running back on the current Seahawks roster

Davis was claimed off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers on Monday. In two seasons with the 49ers, Davis rushed for 108 yards on 54 carries. For those of you keeping score at home, that equates to a two-yard-average-per-rush. He did score one touchdown. His longest run was 13 yards. Davis is 5’9″ and 223 pounds.

Perhaps the Seahawks are thinking Davis could fill their need at fullback. Davis would obviously need to gain more weight, but he has the build to do so. Otherwise, the Seahawks seem to be loading up on running backs the same way they have with linebackers this offseason. I am sure there is a reason behind this madness, but I cannot really say what it is. Sure, Davis will most likely not make the final roster. To bring Davis in at all is a bit of a mystery, however. The Seahawks must see some potential in him most others do not.

The Lacy garage sale was huge

Another Seahawk running back, Eddie Lacy, finally had his garage sale after a month-long delay. Originally planned for April 7th, the sale was supposed to take place over two days this past weekend. Proceeds from Lacy’s sale went to charity and anything unsold was going to go to Green Bay charity Freedom House. But then this happened…

Good for Lacy to leave the land of the cheeseheads in the right way. Lacy will bring that class to Seattle and hopefully production as well. It appears that while many are worried about Lacy’s weight, no one need worry about his character. Let’s hope Lacy ingratiates himself into the Seattle community and runs for 1,400 yards this year. Nothing wrong with Lacy being in Seattle for the next several seasons.
