Yes, Being a Seahawks Season-Ticket Holder IS What It’s Cracked Up To

CenturyLink rocks!

Friday June 2nd came and passed. For those of us season ticket holders who on the three-payment plan, we can now safely say, ‘We’re In’ for our tickets. Seahawks fans cannot wait every year for early June.

I’m going on my 12th season as a 10-game package owner (8 regular season and 2 pre-season games), which in itself has been a roller coaster of ride watching our beloved ‘Hawks. I remember back in 2006 and 2007, I couldn’t give away one of my tickets.

Once, I was even stood up on a date with a woman a full rating star ahead of my league. I thought taking her to a live NFL game would’ve been fun and impressed her. Unfortunately, I sat there the entire game without her and haven’t heard from her since.

I’ve sat in the nose bleeds. I’ve watched the guys play in one of the luxury suites, courtesy of many vendors. These suites are an industry standard. Vendors take their clients to a game and talk shop as well as strengthen the relationship between two people doing business together.

I’m blessed to be able to get season tickets. I’ve heard the waiting list on Blue Pride is in the thousands and thousands, so many eager fans wanting what I am lucky to have.

The benefits of being a season ticket holder is exactly what you probably already know. 1) The comfort of knowing you’ll be at the big game, the hottest ticket around (these days). 2) Watching history in front of your eyes (hopefully, if I didn’t get too buzzed up during the game). 3) Small perks like getting first dibs on home playoff tickets and access to Red Zone and Gamepass online video action.

Training Camp

As a season ticket holder, I get access to training camp tickets way before everyone else. That means that I have access to the first training camp of the season, the last one and any in-between. This is where I get to see our new guys whom we drafted or attracted during the offseason as free agents.

I love training camp because I get to see my fellow 12s, many of whom I’ve met at training camps over the past seasons. I also do what I can to interact with the guys in blue (or in this year’s case, white). In the blistering heat players take time to come and mingle with the fans, talking and autographing Seahawks flags, small helmets and footballs.

If you decide to go this year, bring sunscreen, tons of water, chairs, backup battery power for your cell phones, sharpies and something for the guys to autograph (not all fans are lucky to get an autograph, by the way).

The team has a special section for the children to go. Guys like Marshawn Lynch would only go to that section to autograph items for fans.

Ways the Seahawks Could Improve

I really enjoy being a season ticket holder. One of the ways, though, the team could help 12s get even more quality out of the thousands of dollars we spend on tickets is to give us our own parking section at the game. I love going early to the games. In order to get decent parking, however, we have to get there sometimes three or four hours prior to the game.

Season-ticket only invitations to post-game interaction with the guys would be cool, too. I think it would be fun to have a beer and listen to a post-game rant by Sherm or Doug while either celebrating or being frustrated with other fans after the game.

Being a season-ticket holder is a true investment. My money goes to support players’ salaries and other operations budget items needed to pay for us to even have a team. It’s also an investment in my time and commitment as a true fan. And I have been a fan since I was 8 years-old.

My next goal is to own a suite at the stadium. This way I can not only root for our team with people that I love the most, but to also see other events that happen in the CLINK, like concerts.

Every season I can’t wait to get the schedule to see when we are having a Monday Night or Sunday Night game. That way I can figure out who can come with me and root the guys on. I’m thankful we have a good amount of prime-time games, many of them against formidable teams.

Go Hawks!
